Why It’s Important to Introduce a New Skin Care Regiment One Product at a Time

Although we are all guilty of wanting to use a new skincare regiment the moment we purchase it, doing so could have a negative outcome on our skin. It’s best to introduce one product at a time, spaced one week between introductions. Spacing allows you the ability to gauge its effectiveness on your skin and pinpoint any adverse skin reactions to a particular product in the line. It’s always a good idea to do a patch test before using new skincare products on your face. In order to do a patch test, apply a pea-sized amount to your inner elbow or wrist or behind your ear. Leave on skin for 24 hours. If you have any redness or irritation, cease usage. You may be allergic to one or more ingredients in the product. A patch test should be performed with each new product purchased before you make it an official part of your regiment.
